so they can sell sell sell. Maytag is now whirlpool and parts are not made
here. The also have bought other companies. CHECK IT OUT BEFORE YOU BUY..I have GAS ( LP )
I have not been a happy camper with MaytagFive years ago I built the house with all MAYTAG appliances.
Within two years the Gas range was leaking gas. I had Home Depot replace it.
The Microwave broke that same year. I bought a new one. The dishwasher
stopped working last October. Now this February the new range (replacement) I had a fire in oven. The Oven was empty and had
been cleaned a week before.
I had broiled a steak the night before.
As of June 22 the oven started smelling so bad,
I had to but the Microwave fan on to get that gas smell out, before I baked the pie.

Scared the Hell out of me. I grabbed a box of salt , wet some kitchen towels and opened the oven door and tossed the salt and wet towels. Thank God it went out then sprayed the extinguisher. Now I find out to use baking soda. I had a lot of smoke damage. Their was nothing in the oven?? The appliance man said "do not use this oven.. it's Dangerous". so here I sit two weeks later waiting to find out what Maytag is going to do. They made a comment they would buy it back at a used price, (2 yrs old) . They also said that they didn't cover grease fires. I am not asking about that it's the Gas smell now. What to do What to do??

Thanks for the heads-up, Yvonne. Yeah, I agree, Maytag has been riding on the fumes of their past reputation but is no longer a quality brand. Hope that you have a great weekend!
That can't be good.....
Sorry for your episode, that is pretty upsetting, dangerous, and totally outrageously unacceptable.
All I can say, I am glad you were able to put the fire out, you would think Maytag would be sending over someone immediately to remove and replace?
Try and relax, and have an enjoyable week end , take out any one?

Remember that Maytag repairman in the commercials? I guess he was let go due the economy. He would have loved you.
Oh that is really bad. It seems a lot of good named items are losing their reputations these days.

YVONNE!!!!! THIS IS JUST SCARY! I am so glad that your home was spared of being ungulfed...I can't believe that all of those appliances that you mentioned had all those problems! No Maytag for me!!!
Are you enjoying good weather dearest? This has been a great summer.. thank you for coming by. Do be safe, take one day at a time, and THANK GOD for your thinking quickly on extinquishing that fire!!!!
Blessings, Anita
No thank can't be good. Boy, they sure don't make things like they use to back in the day my friend. Take the cell phone...I really believe they only make those to last a year or two so you have to buy another another and renew your contract! LOL Have a great week and thanks for stopping by and visiting me.
Cheers
Yvonne, there are so many minor and major appliances made with just shoddy and plastic parts!
Good tips...

Always remember the Maytag's when staying in homes in the States in the past. So bit I knew they would never fit in our kitchens (except the large homes of the wealthy of course)
