All about the Gerber Baby

November 13, 2010 This a a face we all Know,
The GERBER BABY

This is the original

GERBER BABY
on the baby food.

Her name is Ann Turner cook.
She was living in Orlando,Florida.
Gerber started making baby food 1926.

Her father was a
cartoonist.
A neighbor Dorthy Hope Smith
from New Englandsent the
Sketch into Gerber for the contest.

In 1951 the Gerber
Company finally paid Mrs Ann Cook
the mere sum of $5000 dollars,

a one time deal.
Dorthy the Artist, got a whopping

$300 for the rights to
the baby sketch.
This was to be

a one time deal. (Awful)

This baby was forever etched

in our minds as the GERBER BABY.

Ann Turner Cook has raised four Children
and taught Literature in the
Tampa, Florida schools for 26 years.

Ann is retired now and has written,
books and Novels. As you can see she turned out to be pretty and smart.
Here are a few of her mystery novels.

I am going to read the one

about Cedar Key,
because I have been there years ago.

There were lots of rumors who the Gerber baby was,
One Rumor was it was Humphrey Bogart,

But When the photo came out
he was already 30 years old

You can find out more about her at
