Marian Davies Castle in Wales

A castle bought for Marion Davies 1925 By William Randolf Hearst. This St. Donat's Castle is in Wales by the Bristol Channel. It is Haunted and so many stories about it I couldn't began to finish today.. I was intrigued About the Chandelier. It was built in the 13 th Century .

Hearst is said to have spent two fortunes repairing it. Image the locals that burned a candle a night and hardly had food on the table . With a castle closed all winter and central heating , electric lights everywhere. Movie stars galore.

I am sure Americans were thought rude and excessive people.
Dorthy Draper was in Wales decorating the Castle.
Aunt Mitzi was with her on that job. I heard such
great stories.

Story goes that a son born 1677 of Sir Edward Stradlings said to have died at three . Later he was found alive in 1889 .

Yes, alive and a Pirate . It's said,

he was the black sheep of the family..

I have heard of men lavishing gift's on women, BUT A CASTLE?

I can't imagine how exciting it must have been.
Just imagine exploring all those rooms and passages.

I wouldn't want to cook for this mob.

You could have a loud party in that wine cellar.

Below are some scetches of the type of furniture

found in the Castle. All the real thing,, The Morgans had their faces carved that proves identity I guess. If it really favored them.

The lady looks very mad.

They are still trying to find out about what period the chandelier

came into the Castle.
