Pearls and Answers

I thought Pearls came from an
oyster all these years.

Well they are in Snails, clams,
Mussels and scallops.
This really surprised me.

Then there is the salt water Pearl
and fresh water pearl.
Then there is the cultured pearl grown in farms. Then there is the Majorica simulated imitation man made pearl in Spain. The Majorica factory was in Barcelona owned by Eduard Heusch 1889.

In America Pearl buttons be came the fashion.
1884 there was a pearl button factory on the Mississippi River.
A man called JF Boepple made buttons from clam shells

Years ago the Natural saltwater pearl
was very expensive. Then came
the man made pearls.
The Japanese are oysters and mussels
in freshwater.

Today some cultured pearls are almost as perfect as the naturals.
also as expensive as the natural.

Now this is the best part.

How would you like to find a sunken ship? Just look at these fabulous PEARLS.
THE BLACK ONES. Oh my gosh.

The Chinese were the first to produce cultured pears from Mussels. in fresh water

Conch shell is used in Italy to carve beautiful Cameos.

Sure do miss conch fritters from the

Florida Keys.

I hope all my sweet blogger's enjoyed this.

Now you know where pearls come from.

Not just an Oyster.

Over 50 Hair Styles

Well I have to get a hair cut this week and the last cut was awful. So I thought I'd look at what cuts other high style older women are getting.

Helen with short cut

I could always wear a turban hat.

As you get older some People's hair gets thinner. After the Cancer it really is thin in the front.

I leave the color on a longer time at the roots seems to make it look thicker, All you beautiful young ladies

are so lucky to have that thick head of hair.

BOOOO HOOOO I miss my youth.

If only for a week I could have it back.. Oh well, I do the best with what I have.

Anna Wintour

Isn't it wonderful?

The Murphy bed they have shops every where.
they start at 1,000 to 5,000. Great for a small apartment.

Memories of the Isle of Capri

I was looking at a Painting in the living room and all my memories flood my head. Travel my dear Bloging Ladies you will always have wonderful memories.
When we landed I wanted to turn around and go back to Sorrento, it was not to pretty and then was told Capri was up there.
All those Italian songs "Take me back to Sorrento" and that happy song Funiculare
were going through my mind.

I can't swim and our row boat man
Joseph, had no anchor, or Lifejacket nothing.
Needless to say I was scared to death.

The perfume factory is at Anacapri.
Oldest perfume known.
