History of St. Valentines

Saint Valentine's Day! February 14th

Happy St. Valentine's Day to you all.
Here's the history to the best of my knowledge.
There were 3 Martyr's named Valentine in early Martyrologies under the date Feb. 14th. 2 were Martyred under Roman Emperor Claudius II 268 AD The Emperor declared a law that no young soldiers were to be married, as he wanted them to focus on fighting. There was a Priest that that opposed him and married the young Roman soldiers in secret. When he was discovered, he was imprisoned
later beheaded. During his time in prison, he converted many prisoners. A prisoner asked him for a plea to restore his Daughters eyesight. He did this. When the Emperor found out about the miracle and the converts , he had St. Valentine beheaded. Before his death he sent a note to the young girl he gave sight to. Signed from your Valentine.

So to this date we all send candy, cards and

love letters to our loved ones.

.

Alright Milt Thanks for the pounds you gave me.

Can you believe this chocolate Heart.Look at the men and judge how huge it is.

.
Or get a load of this heart -
it broke the record.

This is the way it looks now .

I am doing a painting very close to this.in oils.
It does take a long time for the layers to dry.
So now I am doing Monkeys, to kill time.

In July My Casa Blanca Lily's will bloom, I better get lots of
fertilizer as soon as the grown unfreezes. Brutal winter.

Hello Tootsie I hope I did this right.

I feel for this lady digging out. I have cleaned my entry so much, my back is hurting.

Thought I'd throw this sculpture in .
The photo was on the net.It was taken in China,

This is Maine my sunroom window that is snow outside.

I got caught in a white out.
I was white knuckles, pulled over and was afraid a car would hit me, so took my chance to get home. The worst is the slipping and sliding.

I thought my drive way was bad. This is a highway??
There is always someone worse off than you. Remember that.
I would move out of the Dakota's
