Filling My Bucket List Day One

The First day of filling the Bucket list.

A last Hurrah

When you are 74 years old you will know where my head is at.

I have been to NYC many times, with both Husband's
and on my own to visit relatives.
This trip was for my birthday and Barbie's.
I wanted to treat my dearest friend Barbie.
She has been with me through thick and thin.
I completely trust and rely on her.
She has NEVER seen NYC.
So what better way to celebrate our birthday's
than show her the real NYC.
I know where I was going.

The Wolcott was everything I expected, done in
very good taste. Warm and friendly. There were a lot of Europeans.

I asked how did you find this place?
They said the Internet.

I started looking for a hotel room The Drake Hotel.GONE
Then The Waldorf Astoria no rooms for the 4 days we were there.
The Tickets I purchased for ANYTHING GOES were for Sat April 16.
Park Lane had a great price, wrong dates.
The Pierre was $700 a night and UP, forget that.
Then I remembered staying at the Delmonico Hotel on Park ave.
It is now the TRUMP Hotel, Forget that.$$$$$$$
Called the Plaza for fun, forget that.
So now the web search, for a safe place, good location.
I found a Jewel The Old Wolcott, has been renovated
and great price. We could have stayed at the

CHAIN HOTELS UGH! I have done that and did not like the locations.
To me that's not New York. We were on a wonderful side street safe between

5th Ave and 6th.

Arrived at Wolcott Hotel at 5 PM Thurs.
Unpacked, we were tired.
Went to an Italian Restaurant and back to the room ..
I said come on lets go get a Hansom ride
see the plaza and central park at night.

So off, like a herd of turtles we went,
dragging but buggering on.
Went outside and a Cab pulled up Amazing!!

off to Central Park.

Showed her the Plaza, Pierre, Park Lane.

Then the hustle
of the Hansoms.

We had a very cute Irish Guy,
very informative.
It was a clear night and all was well.

I remember Trader Vic's at the Plaza,

and the Palm court full of people, I saw Joan Rivers there.
In the afternoon went to the tea with the Violins..
Very different. So we had a drink in the Oak room.
It was almost empty, and I will say
I was not happy with the service.
Glad I wasn't staying there.
Those prices and bad service.

HELLO the correct spelling is Hansom

I misspelled it, sorry. Still tired and no more fever.

We got back to the Hotel at about 11 Pm
We were both exhausted.
As Scarlett said, "TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY!"

I will get to Day Two.
