Haunted Houses

It really does happen.

I am not afraid to say it now
At 75 I don't care who thinks I am nuts.
Haunting is for REAL..
Yvonne
Been there done that..

They say she built stairways to no where,
I guess she had guilt about the money from GUN sales.

A little romance, This castle was built
for Chester Thorne's bride. An English castle
dismantled, brought over brick by brick.
Architect Kirkland K. Cutter 1907.
It is in a film Rose Red by Steven king.

Built in 1865,secret passages like a honeycomb
through the house. Secret sliding panels.
A bloody ax murder in the tower.
1975 owners found human bones in a secret closet.
It is Haunted.

Lalaurie Masion -1832, in the french quarter New Orleans
Dr.and madame lalaurie was a cruel cold-blooded insane woman.
It is not for the faint at heart, moans and cries are heard.
50 years of haunting..

I would not buy a house like that
if I knew it was haunted.
Never again..

Oh yes, don't forget Lizzy Borden
that was some trial.
Lizzie Borden took an axe
and gave her Mother 40 wacks
when she saw what she had done
she gave her Father 41.
Raising children is a hard job isn't it?

A tragic way to run a country

She will vote no on everything, that's the plan.

It was a vote against POTATOES .
The Govt. thinks to help keep Obesity down,
they should limit the amount of POTATOES
in the school lunches.
IT COULD BE:::::
It could be The Potato people (lobbyist)
Dropped a few bucks under the table.
Maybe NOT.
It could be pressure of the BUDDY SYSTEM or
TEA PARTY.
They will vote down anything Obama
tries to pass. This is not for the good of your Children.
In fact it is not good that the people you voted for are
wearing horse blinders and are PUPPETS on a string.
I expected more of women.

When will we get someone with the GUTS to say"Go to Hell,"
and vote for the good of the Nation.

We have no Physical Education in the schools. Schools are for learning.
If it be Math, History, staying in shape and staying healthy.
Learning to count calories and good eating habits.
These Kids get french fries at Mickey D's, Potato chips
at the local store or home and potatoes at the dinner table.
So what's wrong with the school replacing Potatoes with Squash or beans??
Every little bit helps.
You are suppose to have 5 cups of starch a week, that's what they say.
Think 5 cups at school and after school 2 cups and dinner another cup.
then the weekend. This was a good bill, but they voted it out. Today on C-SPAN
I am watching them vote NO -NO- NO
It is so obvious, they just don't care . Vote no on everything.
THIS WAS AN AWFUL SHOW OF HOW STRONG THE REPUBLICANS ARE...
STRONG ENOUGH TO BRING DOWN THE COUNTRY AND TAKE US ALL DOWN,
because of their narrow mind-less agenda.
OK GALS you really think you won one for the party??
Don't cut off your nose to spite your face..sisters..

This was a way to make kids lose a few calories,
it makes sense.
I was told Collins was born in POTATO COUNTRY.
That those guys are her friends and neighbors.
I have a friend with a smoke shop too
I would have to vote against giving
a smoke to a kid.
That's no reason to vote against
this. You figure it out. What do you think?

IS IT??
Is it the good ole boy system?
Is it cash in an off shore account?
Maybe a few acres of Land??
A boat??
They think we are stupid.
We all know about getting around the system,
you do me a favor, I'll do
the favor for you and they can't trace it back to you.
OK Pal???
I am old and been around the Horn myself a few times.

Don't let them insult your intelligence, with the old shell games.

I share french fries with a friend twice a month. It is so hard to take off weight.
I worry about this new generation. Oh well, it's greed -greed Money, money.

Just to let you know::

I have always admired Snowe before this
nonsense.

I have to say I would never be a politican.
Just the thought of kissing their ass,
as Bette Davis would say,
"I would have to wipe my mouth."

Red Hot Jazz WYNTON MARSALIS

OH BROADWAY! you are missing the boat.

What a Broadway show it would be with music from
Wynton Marsalis..
He is a Trumpeter, Composer, won the PULITZER prize for music.
He was on " Live from Lincoln Center" PBS last night.
I was so depressed. He changed my mood.

Born in New Orleans from a family of music.

Well, it was such FEEL GOOD music,
I was clapping to the beat,
foot tapping.
Jelly Roll Morton, how could anyone be depressed..

Just love Ragtime and Dixieland music.

My Husband was a Jazz Sax player.

Watching the show,
OMG! it's Mark O' Conner
on the fiddle too.

Thank you PBS and all the trust funds and
endowments that make it possible.

Now Don Nemer, he is just fabulous. It must be great to put out
music that can change a persons mood. I was so happy after this show.
Just the Medicine I needed at the time I needed it.

JAZZ is a Feel Good Music. All you guys out there get into it. Snap your fingers and clap your hands, tap your feet. Get some blood movin..

Marcus Roberts, from Florida
was a Quest. he played the Piano also.

What a glorious Day

What a glorious Day it was. The weather is awesome. This is for sure the best time of year. "Indian Summer".

We had Lunch at King Eiders Pub and then Reny's a fun store to shop.
The Pumpkin's were being dropped and the noise was like in the cartoons ::
PLOP,SLAM, THUMP, SPLASH! The soumd of huge pumpkins being dropped 20 feet.

YOU CAN"T MISS THE PUMPKIN REGATTA

They go out to sea in Pumpkins..

Yes, seeing is believing.

Brave men of the sea,
go down to the sea in pumpkins..

Then the streets are lined with so many works of art

on so many huge pumpkins . There are squeals of laughter in the town.

Mainers do such fun things..

It's a way of life here.

The nice thing is we go to Belfast
next week. they are having some art fest also..

Getting out of town is just the normal thing here

I love Four Posters

This has so much potential.
Heavy velvet or organdy
But not Lace.

The Four poster bed originated in the 15th century.
Nobleman had extremely ornate beds with intricately
carved and precious metals and gemstones along with
richly embroidered silver and gold threads.
Tapestries hung from the canopy.
The reason for curtains hanging from the
canopy was for drafts, privacy and insects.

In the 17th century the beds became taller,
as houses were built with taller ceilings.
Most beds were made of heavy Oak.
The royalty had them made in walnut.

I purchased my four poster at Lazarus in Columbus Ohio. In 1975 it was walnut
There is an English company that makes them custom, about $ 10.000 dollars in this crazy economy..

I have always slept better in a 4 poster.
It must give me some feel of security.
I miss it. Lost it when my house burnt to the ground.
That was Hurricane Andrew. It had 4x4 posts on the
top interlocking. The draperies were rust velvet
and green liner with tassels and fringe.
I had 4 side panels with brass rods that screwed into brackets.
