I don't know who built my local library, but it is very modern, and has none of these historical or unique designs to it at all.

Carnegie also had a huge hand in "building" Lewisburg, WV.
Yvonne I have missed hearing how you are doing. Have you blogged about it at all. I hope very well. Our library is new and modern too. Don't know who built the original one in our town. I have a very interesting post for Friday.

There is also a charming Carnegie Library in Farmington, Maine, with a great local history/genealogy room downstairs. Great places!

Since you asked.
My local library is a wonderful old brick building that sits on a corner at Main Street and, I think, Elm. It was built in 1931 as a library though inside it does look as if it was converted from a home.
(Don't know who actually built it though.) It's a charming place. The Main County Library is located outside of town and is very nice, but I love my own local one and it's only a few blocks from where I live.
Well, almost everyone in the civilized world has heard about Carnegie Hall - the world's most famous concert hall.
Thanks for mentioning also the Carnegie libraries, Carnegie museums and other Carnegie institutions.
The library in your town looks very impressive. Our libraries are usually tucked within city culture centers.
The architecture is beautiful! My library is nothing special, just a plain boxy building. I love your dream vacation from your last post! The photos are amazing! Someday... I would love to visit these places!

We have a very boring library, though it does the job. I think it dates all the way back to 1970. Thinking of you lately and your recovery...I'm finishing up some projects and busy with the parents but wanted to stop by to say hi~
