May 3 Derby horse Wicked Strong

Kentucky Derby Day

It's the first Saturday in May
"The Kentucky Derby"
140th Run for the Roses
Wicked Strong
Look at this beautiful Guy. What a body.
Look at the star on wicked Strong's Head,
handsome lad. looks like 10% chance of rain, as far as track conditions
Hope it's a dry day for the Kentucky Derby

Kentucky Derby Day
Named for Boston Bombing- "Boston Strong"  Oh I hope it's a win.
Wicked Strong-- that's a Maine expression. Andrew Beyer is owner, well
this horse has won 4 stakes races, this is a long race, don't know if the
stakes races were sprints. Wonder if it's the Beyer that puts out breeding
form paper. The distance is 1 mile and a quarter and Wicked looks like
he can handle it. Hope the track is not to sloppy with all that rain.

OPP"S Danza has a white spot on his fore head too.
Trainer Pletcher has 3 horses in today race. I like his horse Danza.
Velazquez is riding Intense Holiday a great jockey.
M.Maker also has 3 running

Ride on Curlin  with Borel on his back, love Cqlvin Borel

So what's new in England?

Tense

encounter:
A member of the Queen's Guard
can be seen leveling his riflle, tipped with
a bayonet, at the throat of a man in front of the gates
of Buckingham Palace

Witnesses described how his raised weapon, with an attached bayonet,
was leveled at the throat of the man as they exchanged heated words
 on Friday afternoon.
Tourist Gareth Scanlan, 32, told The Sun how the man's encounter with
police escalated before the armed soldier rushed to the scene.

I just love this couple.

and New Zealand  and next week

On a lighter note.
Here's some interesting News from England . My Grand Mother
was from Sheffield and had a MEAN Turkey.

In scenes worthy of a Hitchcock film, a furious pheasant is besieging
a farmhouse and leaving a terrified family too fearful to venture
outside without protection. Farmer’s wife said their feathered
terrorist has also been menacing visitors to Wood Farm,
attacking vehicles and chasing cats and dogs.
A delivery driver was trapped at the farm in Weston, Cambridgeshire,
for 20 minutes after the male bird blocked his path, flew at the bonnet
 and then chased his van.
who described the pheasant as “a complete lunatic”,
said family and visitors can only venture into the farmyard armed with
“a big stick’ to deter the pheasant from attacking.
“It’s an absolute nightmare,” said the Farmers wife.
“Even when you can’t see him,
you can hear him lurking about.
He’s never far away so you can’t let your guard down.
 He’s a holy terror. *****************************

Images from Ladies' Day at the Grand National race meeting
are widely featured - and the papers look forward to the big race itself
Now that is my Kind of Day.
