Great Places for Christmas

The Biltmore in Asheville  N.Car. It is wonderful.

Been in NYC at Christmas a few times, lots of FUN.

I am to old to
take this trip
the snow
 and ice are
not good with
 a cane
or walker.

Don't Miss the Rockettes

Rockefeller Center Love to lunch and watch the skaters.

I was in NYC a few years ago, and took a friend
to Plaza Hotel. What happened to it?
It was not elegante any more. Everything I
remembered was gone.

Well, I will miss  Pres.  Obama.

Wishing all a
very Merry
Christmas.

May the new year
bring Peace and
Good will to you.

Watch C-Span

I watch C-span
 a lot and the
other night,
Sen.John McCain
was on about how
the  American's
have been cheated..
It seems we have ordered ships in 2008 and they still are not
ready. The few that are, are not any good in a battle. NO ONE
IS OVER SEEING ANY THING!!!! Damn!!!
Money in the trillions is flying out the door. The ships are being
made in parts by several companies, one Lockheed.
This Lockheed is making ships and planes for Arabia,
for $ 11 Billion Dollars. To me this is un American, just greed.
Once I thought they were a good American Co. for investment.
check this site out on the ships the LCS  Suppose to be a small
front runner ship. Lots of our Boy's will DIE.

Pay check for Life after 6 years No wonder we are broke

And they talk of privatization of Social Security!
even 80 percent of $221,467,000 which is the average
of her highest three years of salary.Pelosi, who is already one of the
wealthiest members of Congress, would be entitled to a generous pension
 whenever her congressional service

$174,000.00 paid to most members of Congress,
 PLUS medical For life.

Members of the House of Representatives
who are up for re-election every two years —
would not be able to collect pensions
of any amount
if they only served one term. HOWEVER
U.S. senators, on the other hand, serve six-year terms.
They would be able to collect pensions after one full term.
But the pensions wouldn’t be equal to their full salaries.
DON"T YA WONDER WHO GOT THIS LAW PASSED.

I still am sad on Dec.7th

All those classes I took for
Typing and Shorthand, and
PBX (switchboard)
It seems so long ago.
On the news last night,
they say Robots will replace
people working in the
food industry.
What's next?

I remember this sign,
infact I saw it again in
Ireland. It was in a Pub outside
of Sligo.

My Mom and the neighbor
shared their Gardens
and did Canning
.

The Kids all did scrap drives.
Rubber was a big prize.
Even cooking pans were taken.

My Mother had the Raton books
in the Kitchen drawer under the
Cabinet with Good China. The
one we were never to go in.

So enough of Memory Lane,
but as Churchill said,
"Those who forget
the past are
condemned to relive it."

I Remember it was an event.

When I was a child
in Houston, Texas,
there were 3 theaters
 on Maine Street,
Within a block of
Mamma's hat shop,
It was such an event
to dress up and
the place was a palace.
The upstairs had a dinning
room so you could eat if
 you came early.

This looks like the lowes,
but it is in LA. I was heart
sick as the beautiful buildings
were torn down for ugly new taller buildings. All 3 gone in a few years.
We sat at the soda fountain in the Lamar Hotel and weeped.

Hate to see the elegance
all gone.
The next generation
will wear TV antennas on
their heads. Just kidding.

Birmingham  Alabama saved theirs.

Orpheum in LA

.

Just look
 at this
 deco
Marten
 Woldson Fox

isn't it magnificent?
Lowes in NY turned into a church

The Roxy in LA.
The 8 tiny ugly theater's here
put in new seats for Fat fanny
people. My Daughter and I
laughed as our feet couldn't
touch the floor, we left with backaches.
The Guy that ordered them must
have worked in the Capitol. Maybe
he is the one who did the 1/2 million
dollar test to see why coffee spills
when you are walking with it. NO
THAT IS NOT A JOKE. That's
 how they spend tax dollars.
Happy Hollidays

A can of worms

Maine is making it legal \
This is the worst November.

What we do know is that
 marijuana can impact the
ability  to drive, bike, and
 do other activities. .

Today, a large body of research exists exploring the
impact of marijuana on psychomotor skills and
actual driving performance. This research consists
of driving simulator studies, on-road performance
studies, crash culpability studies, and summary
reviews of the existing evidence. To date, the result
of this research is fairly consistent: Marijuana has
a measurable yet relatively mild effect on psychomotor
skills, yet it does not appear to play a significant role
in vehicle crashes, particularly when compared to alcohol
Below is a summary of some of the existing data.
OK! it's you child in the car so add another 19 percent
to the drunks.

You are likely to think of
 alcohol use when you think
 about driving under the influence,
but each year, millions of Americans drive while under the influence of illicit drugs.
This number is likely to increase as more states legalize marijuana, and the
results can be devastating. Driving under the influence of drugs (DUID)
increases the risk of being involved in a car accident,
and it also raises your car insurance rates.

Why do stoned people like to get their dogs stoned? That is awful.
Here's what they like to do:: NOT WORK
Found in the internet and even nutter things.
1. Watch Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
2. Jump off things
3. Go under water and open your eyes - Its 10x cooler when stoned
4. Shoot a gun
5. Watch History Channel about drugs
6. Walk in the woods during fall or even better, during winter with snow
7. Watch "The Matrix" its mind boggling when stoned
8. Talk to your siblings
9. Draw pictures
10. Play video games
The best way to take over a country is get them stoned.

God Bless Gwen Ifill.

you will be missed.

Gwen Ifill,

I kept wondering
why she was not on
the news. Heard she
had been sick. I am
so sad to hear this as
I loved her

BOY! this has been an
awful November.

Ifill an award-winning
TV journalist
is in Heaven tonight. I can't believe it.
She was only 61 years old. A former NBC/PBS reporter
her death Monday Nov, 14  was from Cancer. She was also
News anouncer pf Washington Week. I bet Judy Woodruff
is crying like me. I looked forward to her every night. She will be
missed by me. As watching Obama leave the WhiteHouse will
be another Crying Day....... I'll miss her great smile.

Have a good Night.. yvonne

Never
again,

I filled my window  boxes with evergreens and saw
all these wonderful berry's. It looked beautiful with the greens.
This morning they were all eaten by birds.........
Guess I'll try Rose Hips next.

I often
wonder if
this is the
 bird
that came
 last year.

These Turkeys
are almost
 3 ft high

Here they come
just like cats killing
the birds.

There is
a Lynx
we saw
2 years
ago.
Hope they
haven't
shot him
too.

Introducing
Pepe
Le Pew.

My Daughter
feeds him
 carrots.

Well that's all Folks. Hope you all
have a great Thanksgiving. I am not watching
TV news anymore. Maybe after Thanksgiving.
