One of my Lucy adventures. Thank God I didn't poison anyone.
I am a Texas gal and lived in Florida from 1965.
Had a Hotel in Saluda, N.Car for 8 Summers. I love Nature,
and was always looking for Trillium and Lady slippers in Carolina.
In Maine , it wild raspberries, blueberries and Mushrooms and fiddle heads.
Well Mushrooms scare me but I thought I'd pick some fiddle heads,
I had a lot in the back yard. I looked them up on the net and saw this,
it's been raining and the ones I picked were tight and had fuzz on them
.
This was my fern last fall. OH NO!!! it's a cinnamon fern.
They had a brown wrapper on the curl,
after I picked a bunch Inside the kitchen they
seemed to have the fuzz on them. I did more research.
They did not have the groove on the inside of the stem.
Below is the Ostrich Fern the RIGHT FERN
The fiddle
Just look for the Groove.
see the groove on the inside of the stem.
I am giving up so I bought some at the store, I guess I didn't even cook
them right as they were bitter, Enough about Fiddle heads.
