America, I love my Country

Have you ever seen this in person?

I was in Nebraska, but never made it to South Dakota.

The more I watched the story of the Man responsible for

 the art work on the PBS movie. The more

I thought about this post. What an achievement this was.

 Town of Keystone in the Black Hills of South Dakota,

 it belonged to the Lakota Sioux Tribe. 

Carved into Granite ( we have Granite in Maine too. )

It was started in 1029 during the great Depression, 

(like now) It was finished in 1941

Many were put to work during the depression. It look scary.

Gutzon   Borglum Danish-American and his Son Lincoln

were the Artist's. The Idea was conceived by Doane Tobenson

Gutzon died in 1941 and the funding was lost. His son Lincoln stopped.

I would love to take that flight.
The site covers 1,278 acres. The Natl. Park Service has control.
