It really was Haunted.
It was built in 1920's by
Southern Railroad The owners
Southern Railroad The owners
that bought it from me named it
the Railroad Inn .
In the 1920-30's several people died there.
When I first took possession, 1970's my Mother
was with me and we toured the upstairs.
I said I'll take room #1..Mother said ,"No
have a very bad feeling about you in there.
Take the room at the other end." Later we
found a bullet in the wall in room #1 while
we were wallpapering it.

There were 10 bedrooms upstairs and 2 downstairs plus the three cabins.
We painted and wallpapered them all and had nice window treatments all the rooms were different. The Green room was early American, we had a french room in blue, etc.
Too many people have had things that can not
be explained happen to them.
I had dinner at the Railroad Inn a few years after I had sold it.
I asked the owner if he had any questions about the Hotel. He said,
You mean the walking?? I really felt a lot better to hear he heard it too.

I was closing up the Inn to go back to Miami and had Dr. Millers wife with me we would drive home together. I had Evelyn as a care taker and a cook. We were in the Lobby sitting at the front desk. The hotel is empty except for us. The Sheriff came in to chat and started telling jokes we were laughing. He stopped and said"Why didn't you tell me you had quests", as it was 11:45 PM.? My friend had heard it before and turned white and said nobody is here, The Sheriff and partner pulled their guns and ran upstairs, One went on the roof, the other was checking windows and the attic.
Nothing.... Then they ran down to the squad car and flashed the flood lights. I will say they were both shaken by the ordeal.
I did have some People from Duke University's Parapsychology dept.come up for a few days. I never told them what we had experienced. They in turn told me of the hallway outside room#3 being freezing and also experienced it in #1. it was August. They also heard the walking. When they left they told me there was definitely an Entity in the hotel.

I had played a game
of golf with a handsome
Atty. named Richard
Bergstresser. We were having
drinks in the Diplomat
golf club and he began
to tell a horrendous story
about the Triple Murder case in
Hendersonville N.C.
He had been called in on the case.
The two men were homosexual's
and had partied at the Ratskellers
that used to be the Hotel they owned it.
At one point they thought the woman was
picking berries and saw the
murders and was also killed.
It went UNSOLVED for years.
Three bodies were found in the woods and the bodies had been put in a circle.
Awful mutilated sex crime. 2 men and a woman in July 1966. they had stayed at the
Hotel in Saluda on hwy 176. I almost fell off the stool, that's my hotel . Boy am I glad I sold it..
NOT DONE YET:::::::::::::
going to art school and working for an advertising co
The door bell rang and it was 2 men in suits. They said they were FBI.
They asked me if I had ever had a caretacker called _*&%_
I said yes, when I first purchased it there was a man that
said he was writing a book and needed pease and quiet.
Well, the Hotel was on top of a mountian, had one
drive in and surrounded by 18 acres of woods.
We had an arrangement he could stay there and care
take but had to pay the lights and phone.
He just disappeared and left the place wide open, nothing gone.
I asked what's this all about?
They said they thought it was D. B. COOPER
Happy days at the Stag

This is the right side and there are beautiful Mountians, A neighbor
on the next mountain was Palmolive soap
. Talk about a spread!!!
Marked nature trails when I had it.
Nice Hammock
I had the main dinning room plus
Dining on the back and front veranda's.
New owners have enclosed the back veranda.
Below is a shuffle board and it is terraced
down the mountain. I did a lot of landscaping.
This one bedroom.....>>>>>>>>
This is the Basement , There is a huge Kitchen down there ,with a 10x10 walk in cooler the delivery door for food trucks was under the front
veranda. This big room had an old Wurlitzer juke box ,dance floor, a pool table . Outside in the back was shuffle board and ping pong. under the back veranda, was a door into the basement game room.
The Happiest Day was Buying it and the next happy day was selling it.
Lots of work and getting good help is like wishing for snowballs in hell.
